COMING OFF PSYCHIATRIC DRUGS
Coming off Psychiatric Drugs: Successful Withdrawal from Neuroleptics,
Antidepressants, Lithium, Carbamazepine and Tranquilizers", with
prefaces by Judi Chamberlin, Loren R. Mosher and Pirkko Lahti, edited
by Peter Lehmann (2004). ISBN 0-9545428-0-0 / 978-0-9545428-0-1 2004.

this book, see http://www.peter-lehmann-publishing.com/withdraw.htm
This book contents accounts of how 28 people from all over the world
came off psychiatric drugs without once again ending up in the doctorís
office. Additionally, eight professionals, working in psychotherapy,
medicine, psychiatry, social work, natural healing and even in a
runaway-house, report on how they helped in the withdrawal process.
Loren R. Mosher from Soteria Associates, San Diego, who sadly died in
2005, wrote in his preface: "This book is a must read for anyone who
might consider taking or not longer taking these mind altering legal
drugs and perhaps even more so for those able to prescribe them."
HOLOTROPIC BREATHWORK
Holotropic BreathworkTM is a powerful approach to
self-exploration and healing that integrates insights from modern
consciousness research, anthropology, various depth- psychologies,
transpersonal psychology, Eastern spiritual practices, and mystical
traditions of the world. The name holotropic (from the Greek holos = whole and trepein
= to move toward) literally means "moving toward wholeness". This
method utilizes the spontaneous healing potential of the psyche that
becomes available in non-ordinary states of consciousness induced by
accelerated breathing and evocative music in a special set and setting.
Focused energy release and mandala drawing are additional important
elements in the holotropic process. Holotropic Breathwork mediates
access to all levels of human experience, including emotionally
relevant childhood memories and other biographical issues, sequences of
psychospiritual death and rebirth, and a broad spectrum of
transpersonal experiences. In experiential sessions, participants
alternate in the roles of experiencers and assistants to their
partners. The theory and practice of Holotropic Breathwork is described
in Stanislav Grof's books Beyond the Brain and The Adventure of
Self-Discovery, both published by SUNY Press.
The practice of Holotropic Breathwork was created by psychiatrist
Stanislav Grof and his wife Christina Grof in 1976. Since then, they
have used this approach in hundreds of workshops in North and South
America, Europe, Australia and Asia. In response to an increasing
demand for training, they founded Grof Transpersonal Training (GTT), an
organization based in Mill Valley, California, that offers a
comprehensive educational program. In addition to its teaching staff,
this program features noted guest faculty in the field of transpersonal
psychology. GTT provides information and teaches facilitating skills,
but does not license participants to conduct therapy. To use Holotropic
Breathwork with clients, certified facilitators must meet necessary
requirements of their respective states or countries. Contact address:

disparate approaches in education, research, teaching, psychotherapy,
spiritual practice, the arts and media, socio-economic theory and other
areas of human life and knowledge; and (3) to promote scientific
research, development, and communication in all areas related to the
transpersonal dimensions of human nature. For more information, contact
